Sofia Medical University based in Sofia, Bulgaria has made a shocking announcement to increase its tuition fees this year. Students starting in the new cohort starting in October 2023 will be paying the updated tuition fee rate. This is the first time the university has decided to increase the tuition fees since starting the English language medicine and dentistry programs.
The new tuition fees for studying medicine and dentistry in Sofia MU from 2023/24 will be €9,000 per year, an increase of €1,000 from the previous tuition fee rate. The tuition fees at Sofia Medical School are paid in two installments which will now be €4,500 per semester. As always, this fee is completely self-funded, and international students do not have the ability to take any loans or grants to help with this cost.
