Established in 1948 to address the post-World War II demand for medical doctors, the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice stands as the largest medical school in Poland. Introducing its English language program in 1996, the university has extensive experience in teaching international students, producing thousands of medical professionals globally. There is no entrance exam for students applying from English speaking countries such as the United Kingdom.

If you are applying from a non-English speaking country, the university requires students to sit an English exam to ensure all medical students meet a minimum level of proficiency to be able to understand the course.

Course Structure – Medicine

  • The Faculty of Medicine provides a comprehensive program spanning six years.
  • The curriculum consists of 360 credits.

  • Upon successful completion, graduates earn a degree in Medicine, qualifying them to practice medicine professionally.

Course Structure – Dentistry

  • The Faculty of Dentistry offers specialized education in dentistry.
  • Similar to the Medicine program, the Dentistry program also lasts five years and comprises 360 credits.
  • Students delve into oral health, dental procedures, prosthodontics, dental surgery, and other relevant subjects.
  • Graduates from the Dentistry program become skilled dentists, equipped to provide dental care to patients.
