If you’re planning to apply to Plovdiv Medical University in 2025, there have been some significant changes to the entrance exam process that you must be aware of. 1. Entrance Exam Score Only – No More A-Level Considerations
Previously, the university used both the entrance exam score and high school A-Level grades in Biology and Chemistry to rank students. This year, the admissions ranking will be based solely on the entrance exam score. This change means that your performance on the entrance exam is now the single most crucial factor in securing a place.
Please note: You still need biology and chemistry A levels to make you eligible to apply to Plovdiv Medical University. Although only the entrance exam score will be used for the rankings.
2. Monthly Rankings – Secure Your Place Early
In the past, entrance exams were held monthly from April to September, but all students had to wait until the final rankings were released in September to know if they had a place. For 2025, Plovdiv Medical University will release rankings every month starting from April. This means that by taking the exam earlier, you can secure your place immediately without the anxiety of waiting until September.

3. Updated Exam and Application Fees
There have been adjustments to the fee structure this year:
- Entrance exam fee: €270 (previously €200)
- Exam retake fee: €400
- Application administration fee: €30

4. No August Exams – Apply Before A-Level Results
In previous years, exams were held until August, allowing students to apply after receiving their A-Level results. This year, exams will only be held until July. If you plan to apply to Plovdiv Medical University, you must do so before receiving your A-Level grades to avoid missing the application window.
