What’s actually happening in each country
Bulgaria tends to have the most reliable late-application capacity of any country we work with. Plovdiv and Varna both run entrance exams into late summer specifically to accommodate international students who apply after their home-country admissions cycle ends. If UK medicine clearing doesn’t come through for you, Bulgaria is usually where we start the conversation.
Poland is more mixed. Some Polish medical universities close their September intake earlier than students expect, which is why Wroclaw Medical University confirming late applications this cycle matters. Their intake structure runs on a different timeline than a Clearing-specific window, so it’s worth a direct check rather than an assumption.
Latvia and Georgia are the two most consistently accessible options this late in the cycle. Riga Stradiņš and Tbilisi State Medical University both run rolling admissions built around international students arriving on this kind of results-day timeline. That’s part of why Tbilisi in particular has no entrance exam requirement at all.
Slovakia is a slightly different case. Pavol Jozef Šafárik University has a confirmed entrance exam sitting in London on 29 August 2026. It isn’t “rolling” in the same sense as the others, but it’s a firm, dated opportunity you can plan around now rather than wait on.

- Get your documents ready now. Transcripts, predicted and actual grades, passport, and even a rough personal statement. Every university above will ask for these, and having them ready is the difference between applying same-day and losing a week to admin.
